The Torre del Oro is one of those emblamatics monuments in Seville, a military tower built by the muslims in the beginings of the 13th century. It is a fortress tower that since it´s origins has been covered with golden tiles, where it´s name comes from, Gold Tower.

It was a defense tower, but during the middle ages it also served as a prision as well as a storage for the treasures they brought back from the Indies. Today we can visit it´s naval museum.
